Binnens Huis – Logo
Felicia Ang came to me with the opportunity to create the logo for Binnens Huis. Her company sells everything you need inside your house, because of that the name is “binnens huis”, dutch for inside your home.
Step One:
Getting the colours
The client wanted orange in her logo, this colour is professional and very popular for interior design. So that’s why all the colour combinations have some shade of orange. I advices a second contrasting color to fit with the logo. Felicia, the client, liked the blue in the first color combination the best. She did however want a different orange with that blue. After showing the blue with a few different types or orange we got the perfect colour combination.
Step Two:
Icon Exploration
For the logo I advices to have a small icon alongside the word mark. This is a recognisable element that could be put on packaging. This icon needs to be so simple that a child could draw it from memory, but also distinct enough to be recognisable as the logo for Binnens Huis. So thats why these 9 icons all share that simple and recognisable design. Felicia ended up picking the top right one.
Step Three:
Font Exploration
Alongside the icons I prosed three different fonts in both capital and lowercase. These fonts go alongside the icons, reflecting the design of them. You can see the serif on the second two logo’s, these feel like the serifs on some of the house icons. And the first logo reflects the rounded houses. Because the client choose the rounded icon she chose the rounded font to go alongside it.
Final Logo:
The final logo is presented in all the ways it would ever be used. Every logo has an outlined and a filled in option. All the logo’s come in all the colour options including black and white. Ofcourse all the file options are also there from SVG to PNG.
Client Feedback:
Felicia was great to work with, the project was pretty big yet we got it done in no-time. All because of the great instant feedback from the client. Here is what Felicia had to say;
